FlyOnWall Privacy Policy

Last updated 13 September 2026

FlyOnWall records meetings on your phone and turns them into transcripts. This policy explains what we collect, where it goes, and how long we keep it.

Your audio is never sent to a third-party AI service. Recordings are uploaded to storage we control and transcribed on servers we run. No outside transcription, speech, or language provider receives your audio or your transcripts.

Who we are

FlyOnWall is operated by the developer of the FlyOnWall mobile app. For any privacy question, contact support@flyonwall.app.

What we collect

DataWhy
Email addressTo create and sign you into your account.
Account identifierA random ID issued at sign-up. It is how your recordings are associated with you.
Audio recordingsThe recording itself, uploaded so it can be transcribed.
Transcripts and summariesGenerated from your audio, including speaker labels and a short title.
Recording metadataTimestamps, duration, and processing status, so the app can show progress.
Push notification tokenTo tell your phone when a transcript is ready, stored with your phone's platform (iOS or Android). Only if you enable notifications.
Diagnostic logsOperational logs to detect and fix failures. These do not contain your audio or transcript text.

We do not collect location, contacts, advertising identifiers, or browsing activity. FlyOnWall contains no ads and no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.

How your recording is handled

When you finish a recording, the app uploads the audio over an encrypted connection to storage in our own cloud account. It is transcribed on our own servers. The transcript is sent back to your phone and stored locally on the device.

Your audio and transcript are permanently deleted from our servers within 7 days of upload. They are always kept for at least 3 days, so your phone has time to download the transcript. This deletion is unconditional — it happens whether or not you ask, and it cannot be turned off. After that point the copy on your phone is the only copy.

Speaker separation and voice data

To label who spoke when, our servers compute a numeric summary of each voice in a recording. It is used only inside that one recording. It is never used to recognize a person across recordings or to identify who someone is, it is never saved, and it is discarded as soon as the transcript is finished.

AI and human access

Titles and summaries are written by an AI language model that runs on our own servers, not by an outside AI provider.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. We use two kinds of service providers to run the app, and they handle your data only to provide their service to us:

Legal requests

We may access, preserve, or disclose your account information and recording metadata if we believe in good faith that it is necessary to:

We access your audio or transcripts only when the law requires it. Because they are permanently deleted from our servers within 7 days of upload, we usually have none to disclose.

If FlyOnWall changes hands

If FlyOnWall is reorganized, merged, or sold — including being moved into a company — your data may transfer to the new operator, who must continue to honor this policy for data collected under it.

Recording other people

Recordings often capture people who don't use FlyOnWall. Their voices and words are handled exactly like yours: transcribed on our servers and deleted on the same schedule. We cannot identify them, so we cannot look up data about a particular person. If you were recorded and want a recording removed, ask the person who made it — the copy on their phone is theirs to delete.

Laws about recording conversations differ by country and by state, and many places require the consent of everyone being recorded. You are responsible for knowing and following the law that applies to you, and for obtaining consent where it is required. FlyOnWall is a tool for recording conversations you are part of. See our Terms of Service.

Your choices

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal data, including access, correction, and erasure. Email us and we will act on the request.

Do Not Track

FlyOnWall does not track you across other apps or websites, and no third party collects data about your activity through our app or this website. Because there is no tracking to switch off, we do not respond differently to browser “Do Not Track” signals.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access to production systems is restricted.

Children

FlyOnWall is not directed at children and is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has given us personal data, email us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where the change is significant, notify you in the app. We will not apply a change that reduces your privacy to data collected before the change without asking you first.
